Wine Tour Party Bus from Austin
Texas Hill Country wineries are spread out along two-lane roads, and every stop means another tasting. A wine tour party bus takes the driving off everyone's plate, with pickup in Austin or the suburbs and a route built around your reservations.

Two ways to do an Austin wine tour
Driftwood and Dripping Springs: half day
About 35 to 50 minutes from Austin. Visit two or three wineries and plan 5 to 6 hours door to door.
Fredericksburg and Wine Road 290: full day
About 80 miles west of Austin, roughly 1.5 hours each way. Visit three wineries and plan 8 to 10 hours.
Quick answer: for a first Hill Country wine day, Driftwood and Dripping Springs give you the most tasting time for the fewest hours on the road.
How to plan a winery day that runs smoothly
- Reserve tastings first. Many wineries require reservations for groups, and some limit group size or have rules for buses.
- Three stops is plenty. Tastings take 60 to 90 minutes each with the drive between.
- Plan lunch. Eat between the first and second stop, or pick a winery that serves food.
- Bring water and snacks for the bus, and a cooler if you plan to buy bottles.
- Leave a buffer. Fredericksburg traffic on US 290 slows down on weekends.
Add a distillery or brewery stop
Dripping Springs also has distilleries and breweries, so you can mix a tasting route. See brewery tours for more.

Frequently asked questions
How long is a Fredericksburg wine tour from Austin?
Plan 8 to 10 hours door to door: about 3 hours of round-trip driving plus three tastings and lunch.
Do wineries allow party buses?
Many do, but most require reservations for groups, and some limit group size or charge a group fee. Book tastings before you book the bus.
How many wineries should we visit in one day?
Three is the sweet spot. More than that and the day turns into rushing between tastings.
Can we bring our own wine on the bus?
Yes, if everyone drinking is 21 or older. Texas law makes an exception to the open-container rule for passengers in vehicles used to carry people for pay, such as buses and limousines (Texas Penal Code § 49.031). The driver never drinks, and nobody under 21 may have alcohol. Cans and plastic cups are the safest choice.
